Silence is another very important part of your health and well-being.
However, most people do not know what it means to be in, or have total silence. Fortunately it is very easy to learn.
In our modern world full of background noise, music, tv’s running, phones ringing, notifications coming in and people are talking around you.
This puts us in a constant fight and flight mode, which stresses your body tremendously.
Take a break twice a day when it fits into your daily routine. Start with 2 x 5 minutes daily and work your way to at least 2 x 15 minutes.
Before you start your silence, I recommend to prepare your body and your brain, by doing 5 deep breaths. Then sit down in a quit spot and just float away.
You can use meditation, deep breaths exercises or just let your thoughts wander.
As long as you don’t get any noice from around you. You can also put on some soft music, or go for a walk in nature.
Remember, the most important way of getting a great result, is to do it and be consistant.
Why do we need silence
By experiencing silence e.g. through meditation, you boost your self-esteem, motivation and joy. It gives you mental strength, and helps you let go of blocked energy. You will quickly gain increased awareness and get in better contact with yourself.
Silence will help you reflect on what has happened, recharge your batteries and help you relax, by freeing your mind from the constant stream of noise and stimuli you are surrounded with around the clock.
Because it lowers blood cortisol and adrenaline levels, the physiological benefits of silence includes, lower blood pressure, boosted immune system and brain chemistry, as well as stress reduction.
Silence also helps you to be creative, realize your dreams, as well as discover who you are and how you feel.
