Magic all purpose cream

4. February 2022

There is just something about making your own magic all purpose cream. First of all you know what is in it, and second, it makes a great gift for a friend. This one can be used for dry spots, elbows, lip balm, feet and last but not least for diaper rash.

When I started making this cream it was for my reflexology clients 15 years ago in Denmark.
I love reflexology because of the many benefits it gives you. Especially in flu season, it is a good idea go get reflexology on a regular basis to help regulate your immune system.
I have made a free e-book you can download, and try reflexology on yourself or with a friend.

What do you need

For this Magic all purpose creme you’ll need a good quality Beeswax, olive- or almond oil, shea butter and lavender essential oil. (I am sure you know an essential oil person).

What are the benefits of these ingredients

Beeswax

Beeswax is known to be extremely good for delicate skin, as is forms a membrane on the skin. The good thing is that your skin is able to breath through the Beeswax membrane.
It has a cell regenerative effect and binds moisture to the skin. It is also very antibacterial and has anti-inflammatory properties.

Shea Butter

Shea Butter is really great for wrinkles and for regenerating your skin. This makes it very good for scars as well. Like Beeswax, Shea Butter is very anti-inflammatory, provides antioxidants and moist to the skin, as well as Vitamin A, Vitamin E and fatty acids.

Almond Oil

Almond oil is a very mild oil which is both nursing and softening for your skin. it is rich in Vitamin E and fatty acids, both very nursing for you skin.
It is believed to be good against wrinkles and darkness under your eyes.

Olive oil has many of the same benefits as Almond oil. If you have really dry skin, try using either olive- or almond oil when you are still damp after a shower. It is supposed to work wonders for your skin.
You can also use both as make-up remover, and they do a great job. Just remember to rinse your face with warm water after using the oil.

Lavender essential oil

Adding Lavender essential oil to your Magic all purpose cream, you get a calming effect.
This is is especially great when you use it for babies. Also adding Chamomile or Calendula essential oil, will work great for the little ones.

Lavender essential oil is a multipurpose oil, and one you should always have in your cabinet. It has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antibacterial, anti fungal and antimicrobial properties. It is also known to provide a calming effect and is used as a detoxifyer. Powerful little plant!

You will need

1.75 oz Beeswax
8.5 oz Almond oil
3 Tbsp Shea Butter
6-8 Drops of Lavender essential oil

At low heat, melt the Beeswax (see how)
Once it is melted carefully add the almond oil little by little.
Then add your Lavender essential oil and mix everything well.
Pour the liquid cream into your little containers and let is cool completely before putting the lid on.

It will last up to 6 months when refrigerated.
If you think your Magic all purpose cream has turned out too stiff or too soft, you can heat it up like shown above, and add more Almond oil, or Beeswax.
