A Typical Day Of Healthy Habits

24. September 2024

I work from home, so a typical day for me, might be different from yours if you work outside your home. Outside of my job, a typical day of healthy habits consists of eating nutritious food, exercise, being mindful and practicing gratitude.

We usually get up at 6:30am and then we have a glass of water before we get a cup of coffee. During this time I do my journaling with gratitude and affirmations. After that I like to read a chapter or 20-30 minutes before we make breakfast. It is such a great way to start the day with absolutely no stress.

Blueberry smoothie bowl

Breakfast

Most mornings I make a Blueberry smoothie (I love blueberries)

4 oz of almond milk – (I just do filtered water and a handful of almonds and blend it).
A handful of broccoli- or sunflower microgreens
1 inch of fresh ginger
1 scoop of your favorite protein powder
1 scoop of collagen
1 – 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries

For toppings I use chia seeds and a handful of pecan pieces

Blend everything for at least a minute depending on your blender. I always like to make a thick smoothie, add toppings and eat it with a spoon.

Chewing your food instead of drinking it is really crucial for your digestion. When you chew, your saliva mixes with the food, which helps to break it down before it even gets to your stomach. This makes it easier for your stomach and intestines to do their job. But when you drink your food, you’re missing out on this important step. Your stomach has to work harder to break down the bigger chunks, which can lead to digestion problems like bloating or discomfort. So, always take the time to chew your food well to support your digestion!

AM Work Hours

My work day isn’t always as organized as I would like, and that’s okay because it gives me flexibility.
I see clients throughout the week, but some things are the same every week. Once a week I have a coaching session to help me learn and grow. Two mornings a week spend on networking groups. Networking and making connections are important not only for my business, but also to support other small business owners and get to know them better.

Lunch

I usually eat lunch at home and it can be leftover meat and salad from the night before, open faced sandwiches on Paleo Bread, or a sandwich on gluten-free bread.

This Turkey Sandwich is an easy lunch:

Two pcs of gluten free bread, toasted
Avocado mayonaise as butter
2 pcs of turkey breast (get the one with out hormones, artificial flavors and nitrates)
1 handful of microgreens

PM Work Hours

I try to see as many clients as possible in the afternoons, and make sure their journey to optimal health are met providing them with excellent service and support. Also this is the time of day (and sometimes evenings) I work on my business strategy, create new material, protocols and e-books for future use.

Lamb Chops and Berry Salad

Dinner

I love to cook and make colorful salads. Sidenote; always use organic, locally grown and in season produce, and mead from grass feed animals, and aim to have at least 5 colors on our plate at every meal.
This is what I call mindful eating.

Lamb, air fried potatoes & a salad:
1 lamb steak (we shared one)
5-6 potatoes peeled and cut in smaller bites, tossed in a bowl with Olive oil, salt and pepper

Herb dressing:
2 stalks of rosemary, 2 stalks of oregano, 3-4 stalks of thyme, 1 big clove of garlic and olive oil.

Berries & Microgreens salad:
4 leafs of green lettuce, ripped into smaller pieces
1-2 handful of radish microgreens, chopped
1-2 handful of pea microgreens, chopped
1 cup of strawberries, sliced
1 cup of blueberries, washed
1 can of chickpeas, rinsed

Mix everything in a bowl. Use olive oil and honey/ginger balsamic dressing.

Night time

Evenings are reserved for relaxation and winding down before bedtime. After dinner I am usually done for the day when it comes to my energy level 🙂 We often just chill on the couch with the tv on, with lights dimmed and candles lit.

Also, I like to knit – are still on the dish cloth stage, LOL, but I have the intention to learn more! There is something satisfying in knitting something you can use again and again.

In the summertime we like to sit outside and just talk, and enjoy the night. Lights out around 10:30

Exercise

See, this is where my intention is very good, but the actual doing it is not so good.

However, I do like to go for walks in the neighborhood or by the river, and love the fresh air and silence I get while walking, even when there are noises around me.
Also, I do different exercises at home as often as possible. This is an area of my life I am working on being better at doing every day.

Ultimately, this balance between work, health, and home life enriches each day, leaving me with a sense of fulfillment and well-being. Your willingness to engage with my story means a great deal, and I hope it has offered inspiration or insight in some way. Thank you for being a part of this journey!
